About LemBo

LemBo, A.K.A. Paolo Lembo, is a Brooklyn-based beatboxer, live looper, and composer dedicated to blending beatboxing with jazz and other genres to elevate its recognition as an art form. Ranked 29th in the United States as a beatboxer, LemBo pushes the boundaries of beatboxing through solo performances, live looping, and electroacoustic experimentation.

A Brooklyn College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in music technology, LemBo’s musical journey began at age nine on the piano, and then picked up the euphonium which he played throughout middle school, high school, and college. At Brooklyn College LemBo was awarded the Music Technology Award for his life performances and contributions to the field. He played euphonium in Brooklyn College’s Wind Ensemble and beatboxed and played euphonium in the Jazz Ensemble. He’s been featured multiple times in the Brooklyn College Electroacoustic Music Festival and transcribed works for the college’s musical productions.

Outside of solo performances, LemBo has collaborated with dancers and rappers, appearing at venues such as Judson Memorial Church and the Mark Morris Dance Center. He can also be found street performing, bringing beatboxing to a wider audience.
